It started on Monday afternoon and by Tuesday afternoon we lost our power. We made it until Wednesday when we heard that it would be Saturday before they could restore the electricity. We went to the in-laws where they had power and wood stoves. Scott's sister and family were there too. We all said this is our Florida without the pool. We vacation together in Florida.
Icy trees. While out in there in the woods I found the answer to "Does a tree make a sound when it falls in the forest and no one is there?" Yes it does make a noise. All day Wednesday you could hear the trees snapping and falling. At one point it sounded like a gun being shot.
I came home to clean out the fridge on Thursday and the power came back on about 3:15! Praise the Lord.
We had to throw out everything. Luckily we had put our freezer stuff in a cooler on Tuesday and then put it in Nana's freezer when we got there. The bright side? I have a very clean fridge now!!!
Hope everyone gets power back soon. My mother and sister are both still out!
Blessings,
Pam

I'm glad you are okay. Is your power back on now? How scary -- all of that weird weather. It's too bad you lost alot of the things in your fridge. You were smart to put some of it in coolers to take with you.
Stay warm!
Jen
So glad you are safe!
Glad that you were able to go somewhere safe and warm. I can't imagine having to deal with that kind of weather for so long. It looks like you embraced it though. Thanks for coming by my blog last Monday for Making Friends Monday hosted by All That is Good. I hope that you come back soon!
Isn't the weather insane? My brother is still without power too.
I'm glad to hear that you and your family stayed warm...isn't it nice to have family that will help you out and take care of you! I know I'm thankful for our family. Have a great night!, and I'm so glad to hear that you made it through the storm safe!
I am glad your power is back on be safe. The pictures are beautiful though!
