HALLOWEEN

This has been a really fun weekend.
Last night we went to my Mom's church for Trunk or Treating. I just love that churches do this.
I stayed home all day Saturday and just threw on some clothes and put my hair up to go down to Moms. I had no idea I would be meeting someone special.
I got to meet a fellow blogger Rhonda from Down Memory Lane. We have spoken thru our blogs and facebook for awhile so I was so excited to meet he in person.

Rhonda, me and my sister Tammy Lou.
Rhonda please forgive me for not looking my best. I didn't have a stitch of makeup on. Who would have thought I would see someone important!

T
Tonight was spent trick or treating in our neighborhood. I followed Coco and her friend Avery around for about an hour. They had a great time and got TONS of candy!

Now I must get myself prepared for another week of work!

Have a great week!
Blessings,
Pam

CARVING OUT SOME FUN

Coco asked to carve our pumpkins. We hadn't carved a pumpkin in several years. We had got in the habit of painting them instead.

The look on her face may be why we hadn't been carving.

The goryness of the instead of a pumpkin!

Some serious tracing

Sorry for the blurry picture. This was my masterpiece "The cat in the hat"

Coco picked out a much harder design. A wolf!

Lots of fun. Now we are on our way to Mimi's Trunk or Treat
Have a spooktacular halloween

WEEKEND RECAP

I had a jammed packed weekend planned. From Friday night all the way thru Sunday night. God had a different plan. I started feeling a tickle in my throat early last week and it progressively got worse. By Friday night I was worried about how I was going to make it to all of my events. Well I didn't make it to all of them!

Friday night was my nephew Ethan's birthday party. It was an hour away after work. His Momma asked me to take pictures so I couldn't miss it.
The little stinker turns 5 tomorrow. He had a great party with lots of little friends.

Playing in the balloons!

Early Saturday morning my Girl Scout troop set up a water booth for a local 5k race. They had a great time and luckily we only had to be out there for almost 1 hour.

These are a couple of the teachers that my girls have or have had in the past. They were stoked to get to give them water!

By the time we were thru I knew the only place I was going was to see a doctor. We had plans to go to a friends house to celebrate Scott's 40th Birthday and watch the Hogs beat Ole Miss. I knew if I went we would have to leave early for me to make it to a walk in clinic somewhere. So I sent Scott and Coco on to the party while I stayed home and went to the Care Express inside Walmart. I have a severe upper respiratory infection. By Sunday I felt like I had a hippo sitting on my chest. So I stayed in bed all day Sunday. Missed dinner with the in-laws for Scott's birthday dinner.
I missed work on Monday because I still felt horrible. Felt a little better today, still not 100%. Sick of being sick.
Scott and I also had our 11th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Since we didn't get to spend it together we are going to go out on a date this next weekend. Looking forward to that. It has been too long since we had some one on one time alone.

Thats whats happening in my world!
Blessings,
Pam

RESULTS

I had my second date with this guy today!

He likes to turn every which a way. But I got GREAT results.

NO CANCER!

When I first went in and the tech showed me the places that were in question on the 1st mammogram pictures. At that point I was slightly worried but I didn't let it really get to me. After a few more mammogram photos I had to go back to my dressing room to wait while the doctor looked at those pictures. Then another girl came to take me to the ultrasound room. OK now you think this would be a piece of  cake after the mammo BUT NO! IT HURT ALOT!

Anyway she did her thing FOREVER! Then the doctor came in  and apparently he knew I was worried so the first thing he said was "NO BAD NEWS TODAY"
WHEW
He explained what he was looking for. I have lots of spots that are just cysts which he said were benign. Since this was my first experience he wants me to come back in 6 months. He said they were worry warts so if he really thought it was something he would have been scheduling me for needle biopsy, MRI or surgery but he said if I were his wife or daughter he would be telling him the same thing.

Praise God for answered prayers!
Blessings
Pam

RANDOMNESS

I have been super busy this month and it is not slowing down. BUT it has been full of fun stuff!

Tonight my Girl Scout troop went to a local food bank to help pack snack packs. These are bags of 8 individual snacks that are given to children at risk of not having enough food to eat at home. They are given out on Fridays at the schools in our area. There are over 30,000 kids that need these each week so that they will have something to eat over the weekends.

These are 7 of our girls that were able to come tonight. They had a wonderful time and worked so hard. They didn't play around or anything. So proud of them.

Coco and Amber packing away

Last week I had my first date with this guy. I was so worried about going that I had put it off. So glad I finally went and got it over with. It was not bad at ALL! Unfortunately, he called me back for a second date! I have to go back on Thursday for more pictures and possibly an ultrasound. So please say a prayer for me on Thursday at 2pm!
If you haven't had your mammogram GO NOW! It doesn't hurt at all and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Last week our troop also did a community service project with Project Linus. This is a group that makes blankets for children that are in the hospital, shelters etc. We tied 6 blankets in one hour. I have a huge bag of them waiting on another meeting! The girls loved this too.

Last Friday night I went to a Princess Banquet at my church. This was my first experience with this. One person hosted each table, brought her own decor, dishes etc. She set and decorated the table and invited women to join her for dinner. We also were treated to a special speaker, Holley Gerth from the INCOURAGE BLOG. She was wonderful and had a great message on God Sized Dreams. The tables were all so beautiful but I didn't get around to take photos of them all. Can't wait until next year to host my own table, maybe I will finally use my wedding china!

Some of the husbands did the serving of the meal. We had carmel apple porkchops, mashed potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese, green bean bundles and apple pie for dessert. Plain mashed potatoes will never work again! Really the best meal I have eaten in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time!

We are still in the throes of fall softball, for one more week at least!

So that is what I have been up to. Still have several events this month for girl scouts and my sweet man is having a milestone birthday next week.
Hoping November slows down a bit.
Blessings

MASQUERADE BALL

Last night our Girl Scout Service Unit hosted a Father/Daughter Dance which we named a Masquerade Ball. We had almost 80 girls come with their Daddy's or special person. There was fun had by all. I was so happy to see all the Daddy's getting with it on the dance floor with their little girls. We had a few that didn't set down all night. We actually went 30 minutes over our time alloted for the dance, they were having so much fun. As part of the Service Unit I was especially proud that it turned out so well.

M and Coco from my troop. I loved Coco's mask, we found it at Walmart in the Halloween section. It was perfect for the evening.

Daddy and his little girl!

Love this photo of Coco

Funny face

Doing the Hokey Pokey

Slow dances

A recurring theme by the end of the night was finding abandoned shoes all over the place.

I was so exhausted afterwards from setting up and putting everything back. My feet were killing me and are still hurting this morning. It was all worth it to see the smiles on all those little faces dancing and spending time with their Daddy's!
We have already planned the theme for next year! We will be doing a Hoedown with fried chicken, line dancing and fun fun fun!

CORN MAZE

Today we met my sister with my nephews and niece to visit the new Corn Maze Pumpkin Patch in our area. We weren't the only ones with that idea. The place was so busy.

Coco wasn't to happy about taking photos. Y'all with the little ones feel lucky if you get some good shots because it doesn't get any easier as they get older.

Jake and Kaylee. Kaylee likes to pose

I just had to shoot what I could

I had my settings wrong so I couldn't get it to focus correctly

Dallas and Ethan shooting corn. That was really cool. For $1 you get to shoot 4 ears of corn.

Beginning in the corn maze. We didn't stay together long.

Tammy and I got to stay with the littles Ethan and Kaylee. They took us on quite a trip.

Something was quite funny

See I told you they don't get better at taking pictures as they grow up.

Ethan was the only taker for the cow train. He had so much fun.

Look at that face. Pure delight to this Aunt's heart

This is what I got when I told them to get with a goat for a photo. Too cool for school!!!

We had a great time and we didn't even make it to the actual pumpkin patch. Maybe we'll go again.

Blessings,
Pam

WEEKEND REPORT

I have been a bad blogger! Scott was on a mission trip last week helping build a chapel with Builders for Christ. I didn't realize how much I depend on him with Coco during the week. I will just say IT WAS A LONG WEEK!
Coco and I were so excited for him to come home.

Coco came home from Nana's with all these cups so she built this for her Daddy and wanted me to take pictures of it.

Saturday she and her Daddy got out to practice shooting their bows. She got this one at Academy a few weeks ago. Don't all girls shoot bows and arrows while wearing pearl braclets?

Practice Practice Practice. Well until the arrows break!

I meanwhile was in the house readying it for fall. I had planned to have this completed last week but he had the storage building key with him in Kansas City.
This little area is my favorite. Simple and cute

Book shelves

Little scarecrow I have had for too many years to count!

After I finished I realized I don't really have anything that says Halloween. I might have to set a date with Hobby Lobby to remedy that this week.

I forgot to take photos of the kitchen but I am watching DWTS so I don't want to get up. Maybe at commercial.
I will leave you with
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL
