Girl Scout Halloween Party

I have survived the GS Halloween party. I was starting to get a migraine earlier today, thank goodness my medicine worked.

We had 2 robin hoods, 80's girl, Cyndi Lauper, a Nerd, cheerleader, sorceror, and a dead person.

They did great with their costumes.

It really looked cool from outside

They had a great time and didn't want to leave when their parents came.

That is always a good sign that they were enjoying themselves

Now to take down all the webs and ghoulish decor.

Tomorrow is packing up for a week of work travel.

I haven't flown since 2001 and will be flying for the next 2 weeks.

Pray that it all goes smoothly for me.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Our holiday weekend began with Coco's birthday party. The rest of the weekend was pretty low key. I didn't feel well Sat or Sunday so that was a bummer. Today I cleaned out our closet (had to since the rod broke in half early one morning last week). I got 3 tubs of smaller sizes and 3 bags for a garage sale. Tonight we had dinner with Scott's parents and the kids shot fireworks. We are early birds so we shot them all off prior to dark. Warning lots of photos to follow.

MOTHERS DAY GIFT IDEA

Turn this

Into this

I took a $1 dictionary covered it with scrapbook paper.

Made a label on the computer

I used double sided tape for both.

Then go through the book with a highlighter and mark all the words that describe your Mother.

TIP: use a bible highlighter they don't bleed through as bad.

I was looking for a gift for a friend that was turning "50" and my sister told me to make her a dictionary like I did for Tammy when she turned 40. I was like What are you talking about?

Apparently I made my sister a book like this 3 years ago but I can't remember it.

I got the gist of it and went home that night and made it for my friend and titled it 50 Things That Make You Fabulous.

She loved it.
She sent me a text today telling me that she took it to work to show it off and her coworkers were going to make them for Mothers Day.

The one above is actually for a Girl Scout Mom. We made them in a troop meeting to give out at our Mother/Daughter Dinner on Friday.

I can't wait to see what words Coco chose for me.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

OR SINGLES AWARENESS DAY ( i saw this on a friends facebook comments) I remember so many Valentines days that I spent as a single girl. Thank goodness it never bothered me. I loved my alone time as a single girl. I lived out on my own for 11 years before Scott and I married so it was a culture SHOCK after we married.

Now I wouldn't have it any other way. This has been a great day.

My gift from Scott that was waiting on me when I got home. I told him not to do anything and we planned on cooking dinner at home together tonight, just a simple home cooked meal together.

We were both exhausted so I went to get Subway sandwiches.

VALENTINES DAY PHOTO SHOOT

Today called for a photo shoot with Coco. It has been a LONG time since she wanted me to take pictures.

She's growing up to fast!

Valentines

I have seen this done on several blogs so it is not original but I love it and Coco did to.

I will show you the finished product tomorrow after we pick them up and finish them. I didn't think she would be doing Valentines this year. I didn't get any notices from school. Could be because she has been out for 2 weeks due to the snow. She says her home room teacher said they could bring them. So that is what we'll do and treasure it as it will the last year. INSERT sad face here!!!

HALLOWEEN

This has been a really fun weekend.

Last night we went to my Mom's church for Trunk or Treating. I just love that churches do this.

I stayed home all day Saturday and just threw on some clothes and put my hair up to go down to Moms. I had no idea I would be meeting someone special.

I got to meet a fellow blogger Rhonda from Down Memory Lane. We have spoken thru our blogs and facebook for awhile so I was so excited to meet he in person.

Tonight was spent trick or treating in our neighborhood. I followed Coco and her friend Avery around for about an hour. They had a great time and got TONS of candy!

Now I must get myself prepared for another week of work!

FOURTH, FAMILY AND FUN

We had a great holiday weekend. We stayed around the house on Saturday until  late when we drove into Rogers to watch fireworks.

It was disappointing. We didn't find

a good place to park so we couldn't see really well.

Sunday, we had some friends camping at the lake. We went out to see them for awhile. The lake level was really down from what it usually is.

He had is fishing boat out there and took us for a ride. Coco did not like it and he didn't even go that fast. It was because the boat sits right on the water. I loved it.

We went to Scott's sisters for dinner and fireworks that night.

Nana brought yummy donuts for dessert. I made my first ever coleslaw and baked beans. Both were semi homemade. I got compliments on both. I always worry when I make something for other people.

It wasn't quite dark when we started shooting fireworks and they were not anything big. I think Scott spent $10 bucks on everything for Coco and then her cousin Jack had about the same. It was fun to see them get excited. They were more worried about lighting the sparklers and finding the parachutes than watching the pretty colors.

I haven't mastered picture taking of fireworks and always end of with some ghostly images. I like this one of the sparklers.

Great weekend with family and friends. I missed getting to see my side of the family so we'll make up for that next weekend.

Monday Monday

Photos from Mothers Day.

Should have turned that chair from the sun.  Everyone looks kinda grumpy and we weren't. Except for that little one in the black polka dot. She was getting kinda grumpy.

I love this one. Mothers neighbor invited us to use her yard and she had this swing in one of her trees.

We have been talking about making a chore list for Coco forever. I finally got one printed out today and had it ready for her when she got home. Nice afterschool treat, huh? I had to get a photo of her doing her dishwasher chore. This was her first time to load it, usually i only have her put away. Now if I can be consistent with making her do her chores.

Whats for dinner?  Do you hear this everyday too? I made Lasagna with ground beef and spinach, salad with italian dressing and garlic bread. This is a photo in the midst of making it. Love that ricotta cheese.

Coco sat the table for us. It was very good. When Scott sat down he said " This is the 2nd time he has had my lasagna since we married 10 years ago" I tell him when something good happens I like to live with the memory instead of trying to repeat it....... JK, sort of!!!

We are expecting severe storms tonight. I have already swept out the cellar and put a new candle down there. Coco has her fun bag packed. I am off to take a shower and pack me a bag. I always prepare for a storm with my phone charged, keys to car in my purse, wedding rings etc. I don't want to have a tornado and then not be able to get in my car. This happened in our area a couple of years ago. The women couldn't get in her car after a tornado went thru and destroyed her home.

Praying Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas stay safe tonight with all the storms.

MOTHERHOOD

Almost 10 years ago God granted me the best gift a woman can ask for. Becoming a Mommy!

Some things I have learned from my girl

How much I can love another person. A feeling that can't be described.

I am capable of going without sleep for long periods of time.

Unconditional love

The feeling of pride when she thinks of someone else before herself

Watching her experience things for the first time. I love watching her excitement

How much I hurt when her feelings are hurt.

Little girls are tough little buggers.

How fierce the feeling of protection is.

I am her voice until she reaches adulthood and maturity.

The beginning of the tween years.

She is very athletic and I am not.

How my dreams for her are so grand and I don't doubt she will attain them

She comes first (after Scott).

How quick she learns things.

How moody girls are, I don't remember being this way.

Girls really are Daddys girls.

She knows how to make me laugh.

Her life plans change daily and I shouldn't worry just yet.

Kids are growing up to fast now a days.

TV is just not good for kids.

Parenting is not easy.

How hard it is to remember when we ground her and sticking to it.

How much I want to give her the world.

And so much more.

Tomorrow we will celebrate Mother's day. It is one of my favorite holidays, not because of the gifts but because I will spend the day with my Mom and my daughter treasuring the gift of motherhood. Grateful to God for allowing me this gift of being a Mother. No other words are sweeter than that of Mommy!

EASTER 2010

We had a wonderful day of celebration of our risen Savior. We didn't make it to church service (we listened online) because we were up really late with Scott's grandmother, she possibly had a stroke on Saturday and the family was called in. Sunday she was back to her normal self PTL!

We ate dinner and hunted eggs at my mothers! The food was delicious as always when you go to my Mama's! I got to see my nephews and niece which is always a treat.

My sweet little E, he has started calling Miss Pam and it is so cute, he doesn't want to call me Aunt Pam anymore.

Their off to hunt! The hunting was pretty easy since I put them all in the yard. I also bought coloring books and treats. They went right by them for the eggs.

I suppose all that hunting makes you hungry for hardboiled eggs!

This was Mamie on Sunday, glad to see her up, talking to us and being happy! She kept saying to us that she didn't know what was wrong with her on Saturday so she remembered. She tells all the time that she is ready to go home. When Jesus is ready for her she will go home. We are glad to have her a little longer. I thanked Scott for allowing me to love his grandmother. She is just precious and I do love her very much.

After visiting with Mamie we stopped by Scott's parents so that Coco could have some Easter time with them. They didn't hide eggs but Nana hid all her gifts outside for her to find. This was a antique horse with some money that she got her. Coco loved it and was very spoiled by Nana and Papa

First thing Easter morning we had a egg hunt in our yard. Coco with all her loot. Our neighbor started doing this for her several years ago and each year it seems to get bigger. She found candy, games, jewelry and eggs full of candy.

Coco is dearly loved by all.
