IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

I have no words for the devastation across teh south.

All those people have been heavy on my heart today.

The pictures and stories so shocking.

Please keep all those that have been in this stormy path in your prayers.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN

We started our new tradition of reading 25 books to Christmas tonight. I am surprised we remembered. Today was kind of hectic.

This is the book we read. It will not be my favorite but it does have a teachable theme about it.

Coco and I got our seasonal flu shots at the flu clinic at school today. I volunteered for a couple of hours and I was able to be there when she came through so I went first. Not bad at all. I know there are lots of opinions out there but we chose not to have the H1N1 vaccine. I just don't trust it. Call me crazy but that's the way it is.
We got a wonderful surprise on Saturday. We had some friends come into town from St.Louis. Unfortunately they were here for a funeral but we did get to spend some time with them on Saturday and then we all had lunch before they left on Sunday. Here is a photo of Coco and Stephanie chowing down on some Chinese food.

Stephanie's mom Darleen is battling a recurrence of cancer so please put her on your prayer list. She has such a positive outlook and is very confident that she is going to beat this. She told me this weekend she has been overwhelmed at the amount of people that tell her they are praying for her, she feels these prayers and is comforted by this. She has a strong faith in God, I am proud to call her friend.
I didn't get any comments on the blog about the Challenge. I left mine at work so I don't know what # I am at. Let me know if you find them all.
Blessings,
Pam

NOTES FROM BETH MOORE SIMULCAST

I promised that I would share my notes from the simulcast with Beth Moore.

She spoke on Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. NIV

She gave us 7 points for this one verse.

1. Nothing dictates our lives like our desires.
What is my hearts desire?
What do I want my life's legacy to be?
These are some hard questions. I go through life just a going on and on and on, I have never stopped to really deep down think about my hearts desires. I want the same thing everyone else wants, health, happiness, my daughter to love the Lord, for her to have a great life, a long loving marriage. So I am meditating on this for a while.

2. Beneath the desires of our hearts is the heart of our desires.
Am I wanting something just to hide something else? God will not say no flippantly to your hearts desire unless it brings glory to him or it is your destiny. What is present in the absence of his answer to your prayer? God knows us way better than we know ourselves.
This is where the faith and trust come in. So hard but so necessary.

Beth always brings scripture to life for me. She digs deep and requires it of you too. That is why I love her studies. I will share more tomorrow .

I have a prayer request. My uncle past away unexpectedly on Sunday night. Please pray for acceptance and peace for our family and especially his 2 sons as they make all the arrangements for his funeral and the life of living without their Daddy.

Blessings,
Pam

FRIEND MAKING MONDAYS AND FREAKING OUT

Time for FMM again. Kasey has a fun one this week!

List 10 things that make you MAD!!!

1. Rude drivers. I was backing out of a parking space at Target yesterday and some yeawho was coming down the isle and started honking because he obviously was in a hurry to get to the mall. I followed him!!!!!

2. When people say they are fine! You know there is a problem but they just keep saying their fine instead of letting it out. I am bad about saying what is on my mind, some might think it is a flaw but I look at it as "you know what I am feeling or thinking"

3. When people judge you as a Christian. Non-Christians expect us to be perfect and it is never going to happen. There was only 1 and he gave his life for us! So go to church and learn about Jesus before judging me!

4. Bad Customer Service. I agree with Kasey. I didn't tell you to go to work at 7-eleven or Dillards. You are getting paid to do a job and listen honey, when you give good customer service people will come back and that means job security!!!!!! Oh and please double check my order to make sure it is correct!

5. Parents that complain about teachers, scout leaders, etc. Lots of these people are volunteers and if you don't like the way it is handled, you volunteer and do it yourself!

6. Leaving your cups in the living room. Pick it up and put it in the sink.

7. When people lie to your face!

8. 2 faced people.

9. People that think they are better than others. No one is better, some are just more fortunate!

10. When someone puts you down in front of others, just to make themselves feel bigger!

Whew that got me all stirred up!

I need prayer, I am freaking out!!!!

My old employer called me today to tell me my old job is open and it is mine if I want it. Oh my. I don't know what to do. I will give you a few of the differences and maybe you can give me some advice please..

New Job:
1. $12,000+ less per year
2. Longer commute
3. Rewarding- help people keep their homes
4. Possible opportunities in other positions later on.
5. Don't know the payscale of the the other positions

Old Job:
1. $12,000+ more per year
2. Would walk back in like I was never laid off. All benefits would be reinstated. Including vacation, etc.
3. Rewarding- Helping people buy/refi homes.
4. No opportunity for advancement without moving or if they buy more branches
5. Would I be layed off again if the home sales don't continue to increase.

What would you do? I don't want to burn my bridges but would the new employer understand and make me eligible for rehire???? I just don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY BLESSED

This has got to be one of the toughest weeks of my life. As I read all the blogs today with so many lifting the Stamps family and Jenna up in prayer. I am realizing just how blessed we are.

Scott spent all day and I mean all day helping others. He and a friend worked on widening a doorway for a terminally ill woman so that she would be able to use her wheelchair. This is a family that he met when he hosted a squirrel hunt back in the fall. The husband was not a christian at that time and I don't know what that situation is today, but he has been shocked time and again for the help our group has shown him

He spent the afternoon taking wood and food to another family that he doesn't know. He heard about them from our church and took wood to them this week because they can't afford to use the furnace so they are using wood fireplace only. After doing that the Lord laid it on his heart to take them food and more wood. That is what he did this afternoon. He has the biggest heart in a man that I know. I am so grateful that the Lord gave me this man. He is 6 foot 4 and a big man but he has the sweetest heart and would give you anything. He has given me so much in our 9 years together when he could have done something he wanted!

I am still having trouble with being unemployed. Trying to see the positive in it. I really was very fortunate that I received 7 weeks of severance , I will get unemployment benefits and still get to work for Tammy Lou about 12 hours a week. We should be fine financially if I can eventually find another job. There are some circumstances that might have a impact on me getting my old job back. I read a blog today where the girl called herself a domestic engineer. I like the sound of that. I should change my profile. I plan to get out of my funk and start taking advantage of the time off. I am making a list of things I want to do and projects I can finish up.

First on my list is next week I am going to get up just like I was going to work so that I don't waste each day sleeping and feeling sorry for myself! I have to remember how blessed we are.

Please remember Jenna and Kelly in your prayers tonight and don't stop praying for these girls and their babies. Kelly's Dad wrote a post tonight about all the babies in NICU and it just touched my heart. So lets remember all those babies that might not be getting the prayers that Brayden and Harper are getting. I just can't imagine what they are going through. I will be giving my little girl a few more hugs tonight and thanking the Lord for her, even though 8.5 years ago I was in a place that I didn't know if I would bring her home!

Wishing all of you blessings tonight!
Pam

Prayer Needed

I know most of you have heard by now that Kelly from Kellys Korner delivered baby Harper tonight. Harper was flown to Arkansas Childrens hospital with pnemonia. Please lift them up in prayer tonight.

Also, Jenna from Jenna's Journey still needs our prayers too. Her baby Brayden was born this week and is also at Arkansas Childrens Hospital. Jenna left the hospital within 24 hours of a c-section so I am sure she is in discomfort from the surgery and traveling.

Please pray for these girls and the precious babies they have been given.

Thanks
Pam

THANK YOU

Thank everyone for their prayers for my family.

I just got off the phone with Stacy. She is drugged up on Demerol and is cracking me up. I told her she sounded drunk, I don't think she even cared! She is eating snickers and drinking her sweet tea. Her surgery went very well. She was worried about the doctors hitting her voice box and losing her voice. Well she definitely did not lose her voice! Bless her heart. She should be home by tomorrow afternoon.

The other one Pete, went well also. His surgery was a little more intense. They repaired the neck but the lacerations on his head had to be re-worked. They had gotten infected since Saturday. So please continue to pray for the infection to be out of there. That being so close to the brain, really worries me. And the fact that staph is easy to get at the hospital, but they didn't say that was what the infection was. Please keep praying for his continued improvement.

Do you get your kiddos Halloween gifts? The photo below is Coco's gift. It is usually not so much but I found the pajama's at the Walmart sample store for like $5 and couldn't pass them up. The Harry Potter book was a last minute item that we bought at Walmart instead of buying it at the school book fair. Much cheaper. The eyeball gumballs and the gummy snake are gross to me but she loved them . She was excited about it all !

Homework will wear a girl out. I went in to check on her tonight while she was doing her reading for school. This is what I found. Isn't that precious. She only read 3 pages out of the 2 chapters she was supposed to read. We will have to get up a little earlier tomorrow morning.

TGIF tomorrow. I am so ready for the weekend, we have lots of chores planned around the house since it is supposed to be a nice weekend.

Blessings, Pam

PRAYER REQUESTS

I ask for your prayers for a couple of family members on Thursday.

My cousin Pete had a jeep accident while rock crawling this past weekend. He has 2 broken vertebrae in his neck. They are going to operate at 10am on Thursday to repair them.

Another cousin Stacy is having surgery to have her thyroid removed Thursday at the same time.

Please pray for their doctors, strength for each of them and quick recoveries for both.

Thank you in advance for your prayers. I am so blessed to know so many believers that will join us in this time of need and for all the bloggers that come to my blog that I don't even know. Praise the Lord for this blogging world because I know lots of prayers will be sent on behalf of my family tomorrow.

Blessings, Pam

I don't have anything to talk about today. I think the heat is sucking my brain dry!

Relief is on the way.

Thursday it is supposed to be in the 80's!

Girls we just might have to get our boots out! Wouldn't that be fantastic!

I for one am ready for my fall/winter boots! I am tired of sandals. Did I spell sandals correctly??? Anyways, ya'll know what I mean.

I have a prayer request. I don't want to get it into all the details here but I have a situation with a person in my church and I just don't know what to do about it. I want to resign from everything I am involved with in our church and become a pew sitter and wouldn't satan just love that. I am not going to let him win but, I am wrestling with my flesh and having a really hard time letting God have control. Because I know he knows about all of this and knows much more about the situation than even I do. I know He is in control but I/we are not letting him do his thing.

So ya'll please pray that I can give this to God and that he will show me his will and guide me to do what will bring him the glory.

Thank you. I feel better just typing that out!

I started out just gonna make a quick post about the weather b/c my mind was on that other thing and God took it a whole different direction! Isn't he awesome. See I told you He knows!!!!

Praise be to him!

Blessings
Pam

PRAYER REQUESTS

Hi blogging buddies. I need to request prayer for a couple of friends.

I received a call from my cousin Stacy this morning and she was scrambling to get to Kansas by 3:45 today b/c her doctor wanted her there for more tests. When I talked to her they were pretty sure she had Grave's disease which is a thyroid thing. Please pray for healing, strength, wisdom and knowledge for her and the doctors. Stacy is married to my cousin Kevin and they have the 2 girls I claim as my own. I know that she is scared and worried so just lift her up in prayer.

When we got home tonight Scott got a call from his best friend Vance and his wife Beth has breast cancer. Beth is in her early 30's with 2 beautiful little girls. We don't know everything yet but at this point they are planning chemo treatments. Please pray for healing and strength for her too. I know there are so many in the world fighting this dreadful evil thing but it really makes you think about your own future and all the people cancer affects.

We had our girl scout meeting tonight and we had fun. We finished up our Travel Right Try-it and planned for May and June. We usually end in May but we have so much we want to do it is probably going to be July before we break for summer. These girls are growing up so fast. Sunny made me a precious little book about how she loved girl scouts and me. That is when you know all the time and effort you put into something is worth it. To know that the sacrifices I make to be their leader is making a difference in their lives.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.
