FINALLY

We went from this to

To this

Our bathroom remodel is finally finished.
I still have to get some decor items for the walls and I am not overly happy with the towels that I bought. Need a few more trips to TJ Maxx!
I love it and now want to redo every room in the house.
We are going to start on the other bathroom soon. At least it will only be bead board (we have enough left over), paint, vanity and mirror.

Monday Monday

Photos from Mothers Day.

Should have turned that chair from the sun.  Everyone looks kinda grumpy and we weren't. Except for that little one in the black polka dot. She was getting kinda grumpy.

I love this one. Mothers neighbor invited us to use her yard and she had this swing in one of her trees.

We have been talking about making a chore list for Coco forever. I finally got one printed out today and had it ready for her when she got home. Nice afterschool treat, huh? I had to get a photo of her doing her dishwasher chore. This was her first time to load it, usually i only have her put away. Now if I can be consistent with making her do her chores.

Whats for dinner?  Do you hear this everyday too? I made Lasagna with ground beef and spinach, salad with italian dressing and garlic bread. This is a photo in the midst of making it. Love that ricotta cheese.

Coco sat the table for us. It was very good. When Scott sat down he said " This is the 2nd time he has had my lasagna since we married 10 years ago" I tell him when something good happens I like to live with the memory instead of trying to repeat it....... JK, sort of!!!

We are expecting severe storms tonight. I have already swept out the cellar and put a new candle down there. Coco has her fun bag packed. I am off to take a shower and pack me a bag. I always prepare for a storm with my phone charged, keys to car in my purse, wedding rings etc. I don't want to have a tornado and then not be able to get in my car. This happened in our area a couple of years ago. The women couldn't get in her car after a tornado went thru and destroyed her home.
Praying Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas stay safe tonight with all the storms.
Blessings,
Pam

BEFORE AND AFTER

I have hated our tv set up since we bought the new flat screen (that wouldn't fit into my cabinet) and we had tossed around several ideas. I wanted to have cabinets built in all along this wall, but it was out of our budget and since we hope to sell it wasn't our best option. Any hoo, Scott called me from Walmart on Thursday to tell me about this tv stand he found on sale. While we were talking (I was at another Walmart) I went to the furniture isle so he could tell me exactly what he was seeing. While there I saw that the shelves were marked down too. Long story short he bought the tv stand and 2 shelves.
Here is the befores and afters!

He took us out this afternoon to look for baskets to put the WII stuff in. I found cute baskets but he found these red boxes on clearence for $3.50 each. I couldn't argue.
I finally have a place to put my 12x12 scrapbooks, on the bottom left shelf. It is going to take me awhile to decorate the shelves but I am going to wait until I find things I absolutely love. I also have to adjust my clock to center it above the tv.
For less than $200 I have a better set up and lots more storage. I am happy with it.
Coco and I took a photography walk today and got lots of cool photos of the snow, I will post later. She is so excited because school is cancelled again for tomorrow. I have to go to work and the roads are clear once I get to the main roads.
Everyone be safe
Blessings,
Pam

House Showing and Other Happenings

We showed our house to a young couple last night. They gave us lots of compliments but we haven't heard from them. I think they are looking for owner financing. I told them we are not in a position to do that and then I gave them lots of ideas for loans. The house I wanted has sold already but we are still going to try and sell. There are lots of homes out there and if ours sells we will find one or rent until we do. If we keep waiting we will be here when grandchildren come.
Scott is home with the flu. I brought him Gatorade, orange slices and masks. I don't think he was thrilled with the masks but I am to busy to get sick. The $8000 tax credit for new home owners is coming to the end and everyone is trying to get in before the deadline. I like being busy but I would like to see it stretch out into next year.
Coco went on her first SEEK field trip today and made her first origami. I wanted it to put up for her scrapbook and she looked at me like I was crazy. She wants to play with it not glue it to a book. The fondness will fade and I will glue it to a book and she will be glad I did, someday!
Halloween is just almost here. I just don't get excited about this. Coco is going to be Alex from Wizards of Waverly Place. My Moms church is having trunk or treat so we are going up to help her with that. I have suggested this at our church but we have never done it. Things are changing there so maybe we can next year. We used to have a big fall festival with games and a cake walk, this year they are having a illusionist come perform. I am sure all the kiddos are happy about that. It would be great to see but not on the night that all the kids want candy! We'll see how it turns out, maybe I will be wrong and it will be a hit.
What are you doing for halloween? Traditional trick or treating?
Blessings,
Pam

WEDNESDAY

I am so excited I have had 3 inquiries on the house today! Our neighbors have a friend and a family member that want to live in our area so they are going to tell them about it. I had a realtor call and she dropped off her card. She asked if we would consider paying buyers commission and I told her no but we would be buying another house so that may work into something. The other was a friend with a family member looking in our area but she is looking for something in a lower price range.

Our neighbors gave us some good feedback. In their opinion our house is a much better buy than the newer houses that went up in about 2 weeks or another newer neighborhood that has had major drainage issues since it was built so that made me feel optimistic with our older home.

I posted stuff on craigslist for the first time tonight. I have a 32 inch Sanyo tv, a playstation 2 +6 games and the house. It was too easy. Now I am trying to think of other things I can sell. Isn't that awful. I need to put a ad for the house in the newspaper and get some flyers out. I am also thinking about a open house sometime soon. These are usually held for the Realtors but it might be worth a afternoon to get people in.

Has anyone sold a home without a realtor?? Any tips or suggestions? Should I do a open house?

Ok now on to DWTS. I was glad to see Macy Gray and Hamilton go. What is the deal with Gray, does she ever smile and what was up with her rhythm or rather the lack of rhythm! I don't have anything to say about Hamilton except he is pretty!!!!
I cried last night when Kelly Osbourne danced and the way she talked about not being graceful or a lady. I thought she did a wonderful job and I loved it when she ran to hug her daddy. I am not a fan of Ozzy but I thought he is a Daddy to that girl just like mine or yours. She is my favorite for now. We'll see what the next few weeks bring. I have to say this IF YOU WATCH THE SHOW PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VOTE, IT IS FREE AND SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE!!!! I wish my Mama was reading this. She never votes and I tell her to every week!

Blessings,
Pam

FOR SALE BY OWNER

Sorry I have been such a slacker, but really I haven't been slacking at all. I have had a 4 day weekend to get the house ready for sale.

We were super busy with stuff on Saturday and Sunday, so all I did was get 2 loads of totes to the storage building. I am trying to declutter so that the house doesn't seem to be busting at the seams. Which it is and that is why we need to move.

I touched up trim work today and painted my closet doors ( we put them up several years ago and have never painted them), that is pathetic!!!

I made a list of all the things I want to do so that Scott can help when he has the time.

I put the FOR SALE BY OWNER sign out this afternoon. When I looked outside when it was time for Coco to come home, I found her pretending to demolish the sign. She doesn't want to move.

Just a few minutes ago we had a looker!!! I got so excited and I think Coco was in the window making faces at them. They didn't come to the door but I hope they wrote down the number to call us for a appointment.

If we could sell this right off the bat I would be so HAPPY!!!!

The other house that I want is still on the market as far as I know so I am praying it all works out that we can sell and buy that one. I know if it is in his will he will lead us to the right place.
But it wouldn't hurt for a little pray to go his way for us to sell fast and that no one buys the other one. he he he

I have Girl Scouts tonight and we are making fall photo frames. Should be a fun time.

Oh and the 2nd night of Dancing with the Stars. Did anyone watch last night? Who is your favorite? I'm holding out to see the ladies tonight. Donnie Osmond did a great job but he is a little to LOOK AT ME, for my tastes!

Blessings,
Pam

HOME SWEET HOME

Welcome to our home. Get comfy and make yourselves at home.

This is the view of the living room when you walk in the door.

The kitchen. It is not perfectly clean and it never is. I seem to always have dishes in the sink. Weird since I don't cook all the time.

I had the dining room table all cleaned off and pretty but Scott came in with veggies from the garden. He also had to put together is new camera and I had already ran him off from the living room for a photo so I let it go and took the photo with him in it. My computer is in the corner. Not the best set up but it works. With Coco getting older we don't want it in a bedroom this way we can keep an eye on what she is doing online.

Our bedroom. This is a 1960's home and the bedrooms are pretty small so I couldn't get a full view. We have a king size bed. This is the comforter set I bought this year for spring and summer. My other is a brown/red/gold/green paisley print for fall and winter. I loved my little lamps but after seeing these pictures I realized I need bigger lamps. These are too small for the big bed. I have a vinyl clingy that says "Always kiss me goodnight" that I purchased to put on a long mirror over our bed but I don't know how to arrange it. The mirror would look small by itself. I also need a headboard but haven't found what I want. That could be because I don't know what I want.
So that's my home. Hope you enjoyed. We are growing out of it but love it just the same.
Blessings,
Pam

BEFORE

Sorry I haven't been around. I missed y'all!

But I have a good excuse. See this below.....

Our garage was way overdue for a clean sweep. Boy did we clean. We spent alllllllllllllllll day Saturday and Sunday cleaning, painting, hanging shelves and organizing.

This is all our junk in the front yard. We had lots of people stop to see if it was a garage sale. We should have sold it all for $10 and called it a day.
But I am so glad we didn't give up. Here is the AFTER!

We still have a few things to do. We purchased 3 cabinets for the space and the first 2 we tried to install were broken so we took them all back and now we will be looking for metal cabinets or wood.
This is one of the items I demanded out of the remodel. I wanted shoe shelves right outside the door going into the house. And we have to use the garage entrance. We have horrible carpet from coming in with dirty, grassy, wet shoes all the time. Now we have a special place to put them. This area is small space between the steps and the wall so it was the perfect space.

I am so excited about it and come winter Cocomama will be parking in here too!

Be back soon!
Pam
