Pam, what a great idea to have a 50 States Bucket List! We would like to help you cross off your South Dakota itinerary – plus, invite you to a few other things in the area that aren’t on your list. Rapid City, SD makes the perfect place to stay while in the Black Hills because of its central location to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Sturgis. While these three are what most people think of when visiting South Dakota, there are a ton of other attractions and activities to do just waiting to be discovered!

Why not add touring the 2nd longest cave in the nation to your bucket list? Jewel Cave is only 52 miles from Rapid City, SD and is only 20 minutes away from Crazy Horse Memorial. Another can’t-miss stop is on your route as well. Just outside of Rapid City is Reptile Gardens, the world’s largest reptile zoo!

For more details, visit our website and create your own Rapid City/Black Hills of South Dakota tour: http://www.yourtour.com/rapidcity

Ahh, I LOVE this list! I need to make one similar. Living in Maryland we have a great advantage. I've been to New Jersey, PA, North Carolina, Washington D.C, West Virginia & Virginia. I would really LOVE to go to Hawaii (maybe in the next 5 years:)) and visit New York. It's sad that I've never been and we live so close! My husband is from Baltimore. I suggest visiting the National Aquarium for sure, we're spoiled here. It's pretty awesome, Bubba gump Shrimp company has a new restaurant at the Harbour. The Maryland Science center is lots of fun too! I think because we live so close I don't fully appreciate all the city has to offer! Can't wait to hear about your trip!
