2013 A LOOK BACK (part 1)

Our 2013 began with many worries and changes for my Mom and Stepdad. My stepdad had a massive heart attack in December 2012 and they spent a month or more in Little Rock Baptist Hospital. Coming home in January 2013 with the assistance of a LVAD machine. Many things changed for them but I am so proud of my Mom and what a great care giver she has become. I admire her strength and unconditional love.

We celebrated our family Christmas in January with all of us and my Aunt Thelma and her boys/families and Uncle Les and Aunt Carol

February brought us a snow day. I think it may have been the only snow we got in the beginning of 2013.

The photos are out of order now but this was taken in January of Coco and yes it was warm enough to wear short sleeve shirts and sleeveless dress

April
Coco and I did a photo shoot. She is growing up too fast!!!

May
Coco all dressed up for the end of year Duck Dynasty themed dance.

Coco joined a competitive softball team that kept us busy throughout the year!!! We didn't realize what we were getting into but it has been good for her.

Last day of 7th grade!!!

We spent a week in Destin Florida celebrating Scott's parents 50th wedding anniversary. A wonderful trip again!! My favorite place

On our way home from Florida we made a stop in Monroe Louisiana to visit the Duck Dynasty warehouse. Yes it is just like on the show, at least on the outside. we didn't get to see much of the inside.

Coco also played on a recreational softball league. These are several girls that have grown up together in our small town and was a lot of fun to be with and watch them play ball.

50 years and counting

Last weekend I had the honor of hosting a 50th Anniversary party for my inlaws. They were married on December 21st 1963. We celebrated in June with our family trip to Destin but I wanted to do something more to acknowledge their 50 years. In todays world that doesn't happen as often as we would hope. I wanted their grandchildren especially to see what a great thing it is and also their friends and family.

I made the card box using a old suitcase I had

I had all this at home and used it as the photo table. Using old photos of their 50 years together.

I found this online and loved it.
Just imagine 1, 577, 880,000 seconds with someone

Nana had kept this scrapbook page. The hit of the day is the receipt at the bottom, it was for $3 which was the cost of the marriage license. I believe Papa said he may have had to borrow the $3. The other newspaper were her engagement and wedding shower announcements. The wedding shower said she had 75 guests.

the cake table

I ordered a small cake for them and a full sheet cake for the guests

With their grands

papa and coco, yes she has blossomed into a young lady

We held the reception at the same church they were married in. Actually it isn't the same building as it was lost in a tornado and then a fire in the past 50 years. There was still snow on the ground and very cold that day.

We didn't throw rice or anything but I wanted a picture of them leaving

BABY IT IS COLD OUTSIDE

The crazy Arkansas weather has begun. Nasty winter storm moving in tonight. Hoping I can make it in to work.

It has been a long time since I last posted. I am loving Instagram and that is where I have been posting. You can find me at mrspamcreech

We took some Fall photos recently. We missed the really pretty colors by one day. The day we went out to do them it was really overcast and to dark at 3pm.

My silly girl and her facial expressions. Can't get her to just smile at me for nothing....

My MCM - Have you seen the MCM or WCW from your teens? Man crush Monday or Women crush Wednesday. I think there is now Too Cute Tuesday and Throw back Thursday.

Halloween dance 2013. They went as twins of something or other.
Beautiful in their masks. Mine thought sharpie tattoos were needed.

This is where we have spent much of the past few months. Coco is playing competitive softball. This was the Halloween tournament and they dressed in camo. She is really growing as a player. Looking into some pitching for this spring. I have always been opposed just because the girls swing is so pronounced. I worry about her shoulder getting overworked and hurt. They tell me I am silly, we shall see. If it is her talent then so be it. I will support

Our Girl Scouts held a food drive a couple of weeks ago. Trying to find time for this has been hard this year. Everyone has a different schedule and I started a new job, blah blah blah.

I will be doing a FIRST this Thanksgiving. I am in charge of the Turkey. This is our year to go to Scott's parents and Scott got a Turkey through his job.. His Mother told him we could just bring the turkey. WHAT!!!! Does she know I have never cooked a bird? I have never touched something so cold and naked!!!
Gives me the hebbie Jebbies but we will get it done. I joked with my Mom about me wrestling it around my kitchen trying to get it in a pan without touching it. Then I watch Pioneer Woman and she does all this fancy brineing, so now I want to do it up right. I may just be a bystander telling Scottie what to do. I even have to buy a roasting pan. I feel like I have been pushed out into the world and have to grow up now. I have been spoiled and just started taking side dishes to Mom's a few years ago.

Time to stop thinking about that or I will never get to sleep. Looking forward to another short week.

BEEN A LONG TIME

I have let my little blog go to the dump. I have been super duper busy. Coco is now on a travel softball team so we spend lots of time at the ball fields. Tonite was a 3 hour practice with another on Thursday. Getting ready for our last (I hope) tournament this weekend and it is local. Yee haw I love watching her play and she has really upped her game this year but this Momma is TIRED!!!

I started a new job a couple of weeks ago. Same line of work but in management. Luckily the person I am replacing is staying on a couple of months to train me and make it a smooth transition. I will admit it has been different. I am used to being super busy 8-10 hours each day and these past few weeks have been really long 8 hours. I know that will change when it is just me doing the job. Grateful for the position though.

We spent today saying goodbye to a good friend. A man that was like a 2nd father to Scott passed away and the services were today. It was a beautiful service but different than what I have been to before. The wife spoke and said such loving words about their life together. Several other people spoke about how he had touched their lives. He will be greatly missed but definitely left a legacy.

8th GRADER IN THE HOUSE

Coco started 8th grade last week. She loves it.
She already has her favorite classes which change daily,
kind of like her moods.
She has a pretty heavy schedule with sports, scouts and family.
Hardly leaves time to relax!!
I am ok with that you know "with idle minds" hey we will keep her busy busy

I also have my favorite high schooler graduating this year.
JAKE

I had the honor of taking some Senior pictures for him last weekend.
he is so handsome and sweet. I look forward to seeing where God takes him in the future.

Friday -
left home at 3:30pm
drove to Grenada Miss
stayed at Holiday Inn Express
we get in the elevator and

and exclaims "We can go sideways?"
She was looking at the open/close door buttons
I really think she was serious!! She has been on
elevators hundreds of times

Sat-
left Grenada at 7:05
Got to just outside Mobile, AL and hit bumper to bumper traffic all the way through the tunnel in Mobile.
We got to the house about 4pm.
Before anything was done Coco and Scott were in the pool
unloaded the car and Nana/Papa
got us pizza

Sun- Rain Rain Rain all the live long day. We didn't get out to do anything

Mon- Rain Rain Rain again- we did go out to the mall in Mary Esther but the rain really dampened our spirits since we couldn't be on the beach or in the pool.
ate at Mexican place that was delicious.
Celebrated Coco's upcoming 13th birthday
Scott and Coco got in the pool late that evening.

It has been 10 years since we first went to Destin and rented this house. We went that first time to celebrate Scott's parents 40th wedding anniversary. We have been back many times since and this year was in celebration their 50th anniversary. Coco was 3 the first time and I will be uploading some photos from then and now. Wow have we all grown so much and not all in a good way LOL...
