DUMPSTER DIVING

As promised here are photos of my treasures from the dumpster.

First let me explain. My office is in a complex with lots of other businesses and I am guessing this business closed or redecorated. These chairs were just sitting out beside the dumpster. They are in perfect shape. No scratches, nicks or anything. Good solid chairs. I don't know why they didn't at least take them to the salvation army. Oh well my good fortune. I took this photo while at the office so excuse the fire extinguisher and electrical panel.

I called Scott to come by to pick the chairs up and when he got there he looked inside the dumpster and found this little beauty. I don't know what I will do with it yet but I will find it a home.
Another view.

He also pulled out a brand new coffee maker which I gave to another lady at the office and a black floating shelf with the hardware.
Maybe I could make this a business if I need to, instead of selling eggs. Oh I kid!

At least I hope it doesn't come to selling eggs and taking in borders! I should never have watched that Kit Kittredge movie, it was based on the great depression times.
I am off to a Brownie meeting. Have a great evening and watch those dumpsters you never know what treasures you might find.

Weekend Update

Wow I haven't posted since last Tuesday. That week just flew right on by!

Scott was gone on Friday and Saturday doing a squirrel hunting fellowship with a bunch of guys from our church. He loves hunting and I am glad that he is using something he loves to glorify God.

Colby and I went to the football game where she got to cheer at halftime. I will have to load those pictures and post about it later.

Saturday we slept in! Heaven, I tell you. I have been so tired working 2 jobs. That afternoon we went to the Promenade to just walk around for the afternoon. Our plans were to go to Gordmans so she could spend her money on a new Webkinz. She changed her mind when we went by Buildabear.

This would make #7 bear we have. She chose a halloween cat with a witches outfit.

Sunday was a sad day for me. It was our last day to teach our Sunday school class. We have taught the 4-5 year olds for the past 4 years. I will dearly miss those children but I am looking forward to being taught and being with people that have their shoes on the right feet.
Tomorrow I will show you what I found dumpster diving. Can't believe people throw these things away!

Blessings,
Pam

WHATS BEEN HAPPENING

I've had another busy week and I don't feel like I got a thing accomplished.

I worked all week and 1 night at the store. Have to go in this afternoon for 4 hours. I don't like being away from Coco and she really doesn't like for me to be gone but I sure like that extra cash.
I took my first photography class on Thursday. My homework was to use the shutter speed, aperture and ISO. All a bunch a mumbo jumbo in my brain. Here are some photos I took using different speeds and settings. Somehow I was able to focus on Coco and Kaylee is blurry.

See how blurry the background is.

This is my nephew Dallas and his fiance Elizabeth. He had birthday on Thursday. Liz planned a party for him on Saturday at my mom's. It is hard to believe the little boy is 23 years old. It seems like just yesterday he was following my around calling me "my Pam" and I was teaching him to tie his shoes and blow bubbles. He used to ride with me in the car and he always wanted me to drive with my knee. I was always the cool aunt until I had Coco and his adventures got more involved than whether or not he should highlight his hair.

Saturday Tammy and I had a garage sale. This is little miss Kaylee after shopping and trying on clothes at the sale. Isn't this adorable. She had her baby all wrapped up on the luggage carrier. Shes gonna be somebody someday!
Blessings,

Pam

PARTY TIME

Today was the birthday party for Rylie and Raegan. Warning lots of photos.

This is the table with all the candy. I used Coco's candyland game board and some sundae glasses and crystal that I had to put all the candy in. Rylie went right for it and loved it.

This is Rylie with the table.
Rylie, Raegan and my Coco. Sweetest girls.
Rylie loves the camera. Isn't she adorable.
I think I had my pinkie in the camera on this one. This is Raegan with the tutu on that I made for her. She was trying to dance like her big sister. She also liked the bow and paper more than the gift. Typical child for you.

Rylie in her tutu. She loved it and wanted it on immediately. She twirled and twirled. I am so glad I made it for her.

I just love this picture of Raegan. She is so petite for a 1 year old. I could just cuddle her all day.

So thankful I could spend this time with them. Thanks Kevin and Stacy, we enjoyed seeing you too!

Blessings,

Pam

I AM A WINNER

I WON !

I won a Selah Box set at http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/ aka Bring the Rain. I don't know how to link it correctly. This is a beautiful family. Go read about them.

Oh well I can't wait to get them and listen to all that good music!

Thank you so much Angie!

I have been so lazy today. I did decorate for a little birthday party I am having for my nieces Rylie and Raegan tomorrow. Their birthdays were Aug. 23rd and Sept 10th. I will have lots of photos of them after the party. I don't want to show pictures of the decorations because their mommy will look here and it won't be a surprise. I will tell you it involves lots of candy!

I took a 2 hour nap, I love rainy day naps, don't you! It has been a day for potatoes. I made potato soup for a late lunch and then for supper I just made some cheese fries with spicy ranch dressing.

Now I am trying to get DH to go get us jr. banana splits from Sonic! If I can tear him away from the USC game. I was afraid he was going to go into a great depression after finding out that the Razorback game in Austin was cancelled. Poor thing.

I guess between football and hunting season I will be spending a lot of time in my scrapbook room these next few months. Of course that is not a bad thing. I think I will go get into something now!

Praying for all those in the path of IKE!

Blessings,
Pam

2nd Post Wedding Renewal Photos

The photos below are my Aunt Terri and Uncle James. They were married 40 years on August 20th of this year. Back in 1968 they didn't get to have a real wedding so for their 40th anniversary they renewed their vows in front of friends and family and had the wedding they didn't get to have before.

They didn't hire a photographer so as a gift to them I took pictures at the wedding. I did get some good ones but I really need those classes I am taking on Thursday. I hope she will be happy with the photos I did. Here a few of them.

GEO CACHING

Have you guys heard about geo caching?

We just got home from our Girl Scout meeting where one of the mom's took us to find her Cache. This thing is a big deal. If you like to hike and like a challenge go check it out here http://www.geocaching.com/.

There are cache's hidden all over the world. I think Jeep was actually giving away a new Jeep if you found theirs. Lots of fun and we will be doing this again on a much harder hunt and as they get older and can understand a GPS and how it works.

This is going to be another busy week. I am still working nights for my sister. Only 2 more this week. Thursday I get to start my photography classes that Scott bought me for my birthday. I can't wait. I took some photos at my aunt and uncles renewal of vows on Saturday night. I did get some good ones but I got some with lots of shadows.

I probably won't be back here until the end of the week.

Blessings,
Pam

EASY UPDATE TO JEANS

These were Coco's jeans from last year, which were to short. So I rolled them up a bit to make them capri length, put a stitch in each side and sewed on some cute big buttons. Total cost less than $4.00. I have a ton of buttons so I might add some smaller ones later. Aren't they cute. I plan to put a "C" on her shirt in the same blue/brown colors to make it more of a outfit. Maybe I will do something with a hair ribbon to.

SHE'S DEPRIVED

This is what was on the coffee table when I got home last night. 2 stuffed cats with food (pretzel) and water. She even punched holes in the lid for air. Love it!

We gave her a kitty for her 4th birthday and it was in the house until this past year when she started going potty on stuff. When I had to buy a school book because she pottied(sp?) on Coco's backpack, I put her outside where she now stays. Coco complains when we ask her to feed the real cat. I guess pretend is much more fun and they won't potty on anything.

Movie Update

This one was funny. A good rent at home movie. Of course it had some questionable content but they are both great actors.

I just love Abigail. Again, glad I rented it and not spent the money to go to the movies. Worth the rent.

Never made it to this one. I have to return them tomorrow so maybe we'll rent it again. It was a free one so no $$$ lost.

Coco watched her Bee Movie about 5 times since Saturday!

The Republican National Convention is on and Sarah Palin just came on so I gotta check this out. History in the making.

But before I go I want to show you what a zoo Coco has. This photo was taken on Saturday nite when I went in to check on her before going to bed. I think she had every animal ever made on that bed with her. This is a habit she has had since she was itty bitty. Lover of animals real and not so real.

Blessings,

Pam

LABOR DAY

It has sure been a day of labor for me.

I have been hard at work since about 10am this morning. After watching hurricane news I decided to get some things finished that have been on my list all summer. I power washed the front steps and railings. Then painted the railings and front door black. My door had been red for several years and I have wanted to paint it black and my dear hubby will now hopefully get busy making me some shutters that will also be black.
I also started getting my fall stuff out. I remade a old wreath that I had in the garage. The glare from the glass door makes it kinda hard to see.

I put some pumpkins on the shelf I have in the dining room. This is the shelf I bought with some birthday money my cousins gave me.

I bought this little pumpkin the other day. I splurged when I went to Hobby Lobby to buy a birthday present and a secret sister gift. Isn't it cute, it is curly q cut outs. My favorite so far this season.
I feel great getting so many things accomplished today. I still have a few more things to do. Like put the sheets back on the bed, make dinner, ironing for the week since I will be working a couple of nights this week and vacuum up the mess I made working on the wreath.
I think God answered some prayers for Louisiana. It isn't over for them down there, but the hurricane slowed down to a category 2 instead of going up to a 5 like they were predicting last night. Praise God that everyone heeded the warnings and got out of town. But we can't stop praying, there are several more storms out there swirling around heading toward the US. Hannah is headed to our east coast sometime this week. I pray that she slows down too.
Hope everyone has a great week. I look forward to seeing all the fall decor on the blogs this week.
Blessings,
Pam
