FUNNY

I received the following in a email at work yesterday. I thought this was hilarious. I am spending mine in Florida and I don't care where it goes from there!

How to use Your IRS Rebate check... As you may have heard, each of us will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India . If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala . If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan . If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America . The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it atyard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the US.

FRIENDS

This is my friend Kim. Isn't she pretty!!! We went to lunch today at our favorite place Chili's and we had our usual Chicken Quesadillas. YUMMY but not on my WW diet. Oh well it was worth the splurge. Good food and good friends. You just can't beat it.

Do you see that?? In just 9 short days we will be outa here and headed to the sun and sand. Oh I just can't wait. I am so excited I just can't hide it. I have been surfing the net looking for new things and places to go while we are there. We are going to Big Kahunas water park for sure. Colby is just the right age to enjoy it now. I also hope to go to Grayton Beach and Baytowne Wharf too. More than anything I am just ready to get away and relax. I love taking my bible study and going down to the beach early in the morning. I am always in awe of how awesome he is and the vast ocean that he has provided for us. I love finding the beauty in all his creations. Warms this heart.

I have got to go prepare some stuff for a bridal shower we are having at work on Friday. Just like me to leave everything until the last minute.

Have a great Thursday!

TRYING AGAIN

Ok I am going to try to post some of the photos from the weekend.
This is my mama trying to ride Colby's old bike. Cool Mom huh? You wouldn't know she is turning 60 this year. Good to see her playing and having fun.

Colby's Lemonade stand was a big hit. She made $9.75

This is me with the big dead deer on my shoulder........ We had a very good weekend. The garage sale was successful, Colby and I attended a Mother/Daughter Craft Tea with Jen from The Angel Company. Here are the things we made: a cool card purse using envelopes, a box to hang on your door for notes , a card and a note pad with pencil using Bind it All. I now have to get this Binding machine it is awesome.

We just got home from Colby's softball game. We lost by 1 point and if we had a umpire that knew what she was doing we would have tied 3 to 3. This is the best coach we have ever had. He loves those girls and he makes sure everyone plays and has fun. IT WAS SO COLD!!!! I thought for sure it was like 35 degrees but when we left the truck said 58, well that was the coldest 58 I have felt in a while .

I am distracted trying to watch this. I hope he choses Shayne. What about you who do you think he should pick? Matt is by far my favorite Bachelor. Maybe it is that accent, he is hottie for sure.

Everyone have a terrific tuesday!

Busy Bee

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Been really really busy trying to get ready for a garage sale. I have too much junk. But I hope it will be treasures to others and I make loads of money for our vaca.... Maybe I will splurge at the Coach outlet in Destin. I really want a Coach bag. I don't know why but I do. I think they are super cute. I would link one but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

It is raining again tonight. I am so sick of rain. We will be playing softball in December if we keep getting rained out.

I can't believe that the school year is almost over. Our lives seem to get so busy at this time of year. Girl scouts are ending, ball is starting, finding daycare for the summer, and I just found out that cheerleading is starting in July, and I am sending Colby to etiquette camp in July and she wants to go to a overnight weeklong camp too. I really need a wife to help me with all this stuff. Maybe the group in Texas has it right with 10 wives to a man (just kidding) but can you imagine what all they get done and get to do it with a buddy all the time. Weird I know.

It is 10 pm and I have more tutu's to finish before tomorrow nite.

Pray it doesn't rain on Friday and Saturday and we have a successful garage sale. Nothing is coming back home if I can help it.

Will be back on Sunday. Blessings until then.

MY DAY

I have had a very exciting day. First I went to the DMD warehouse sale. Boy did I get some bargains. I have enough scrapbooking supplies to last me the next 4 years. The company Creativity Inc. is relocating to California. I feel so bad for all those employees that are losing their jobs.

Then I went to see these 2 munchkins. My neice Kaylee and nephew Ethan. I had lots of fun playing with them for awhile. It was good to see my mom to (she was babysitting) but she wouldn't let me take her photo. I will have to find one to post just so that I can tell her I did it.

And this is what I found when I turned into our street. My baby ( the one in pink lol) riding without training wheels. I am so proud. She has not wanted to ride her old bike because it still has training wheels and she was embarrassed that one of her friends might see her. I told her we would get her a bigger bike and when Scott went to Walmart last night he remembered and got her bigger one. He came home at 10pm and told her she had to help bring in groceries. Yes he will do the grocery shopping. I am very blessed. Anyway she was irritated that she had to go help but when she got outside he gave her the bike and she was excited. When I went to sale this morning they got out on the bikes. He held it for about 2 minutes and she took off. Well she rode and rode. Then I had to join them to ride to McDonalds ( Scott and I didn't eat not good for weight watchers). She even had our neighbor lady out riding with her. When she finally settled down and came in for the night she said her bottom was sore. Poor thing, she will be hurting tomorrow. She held those handle bars so tight that I know her arms will be sore too!

All in all a very beautiful day spent with the beautiful people in my life. Hope yours was just as good......

EXCITEMENT

I have comments! I have comments! I am so excited about people reading my blog. Thank you all for stopping by....

We had softball practice tonight. This is the first one I have made it to and it was fun. I have a problem though. I get really excited and it shows. I try to sit still and be supportive but I can't help but jump up and clap and holler out encouragement. I don't get mad or anything like that, just happy and do a happy dance. Also Colby gets tired of me taking photos. Yes I'm the Mom out in the middle trying to get a good shot. She doesn't believe me now but she will want these when she is old.

I have to tell you a story about my sister and her granddaughter. Sunday Tammy Lou called me really frustrated that Kaylee wasn't obeying her. Didn't matter what Tammy did it didn't phase her. Kaylee just turned 4 and she already has quite the attitude. So I tell Tammy to put a couple of drops of vinegar on her tongue when she back talks her. I did this with Colby when she used some words that weren't appropiate and I only had to do it twice. Well Tammy calls me yesterday to tell me the vinegar didn't work. Kaylee liked it and told her "Nan I will drink that, Nan I like that". I couldn't help but laugh. She is a big handfull and it is just starting.

I am going to the eye doctor tomorrow. Please pray that I don't have to have bifocals(sp?) see I'm not even old enough to know how to spell it. 2 years ago the doctor told me I had at least 10 years before I would need them but I notice myself looking down at really small things like threading a needle or trying to read a VERY small MP3 player. So we'll see maybe I will just need new glasses. I really would like to try contacts but I am afraid that it will be irritating to my eyes. Maybe I will go out on a limb and try some. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I am going to go finish my latest Karen Kingsbury novel, only 2 chapters left.

Talk to you soon.

Great Movie

I just got home from taking my Girl Scout Troop to see Nims Island with Abigail Breslin and Jodie Foster. Oh my that was the best movie. That little girl is so talented. GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

I have the best little troop. They are 7 & 8 years old and all so funny and spunky. I have this vision of them growing up and we will go on adventures and they will all stand together quietly, and being perfect little ladies. It will happen and everytime we go out that is what I keep in mind. They will not be this age forever. Eventually they will stop wearing shoes with wheels in them nor will they wonder off in their own little world. Oh what dreams I have for this little group of girls that have been together since they began Girl Scouting as Daisy's at the mere age of 5.

We went on a camping trip (stayed in a lodge at the Girl Scout camp) 2 weekends ago and as a scrapbooker of everything I took lots of photos. I made each of them a little 5x7 book of our weekend. I gave them the books tonight and they were a big hit. If you haven't checked out all the options at your local Sam's club, you should. You can even do a 12x12 book. I plan to do this with our upcoming beach trip for my In-laws as a Christmas gift. The 12x12 starts at $20.92. It would cost a lot more if you made a scrapbook the traditional way.

I would have added a link to the movie but I don't know how. If you know some easy instructions I would be a happy girl if you left me a comment on how to do it.

Have a great night and a beautiful Tuesday. I am off to get ready for the Bachelor!!!!!!

Weekend Recap

I had a great relaxing weekend. Scott and Colby got home around 3 today and she was so dirty. They went Turkey hunting and this is the first time she went with him. She didn't comb her hair or brush her teeth all weekend. She was home about 15 minutes and I couldn't stand it, I had to get her in the bath. I checked her for ticks and didn't find any, thank goodness. I am not a traditional camper. I like to go but I want to be in a cabin with all the amentities of home.

I got out early on Saturday to hit some garage sales but they were duds except for one. I found $20 worth of scrapbook supplies so it wasn't a total loss of my time. I did find some really cute Tommy Hilfiger flip flops at Sam's for $9.86. I thought that was a total bargain. But watch out if you have photos developed at Sam's. My last order was doubled and they printed every photo that was on my SD card. That would have cost me $30+ if I hadn't realized it.

I started a Priscilla Shirer bible study this afternoon. Discerning The Voice of God. I think it is going to be a great study. Has anyone went through this one? I'm kinda spoiled by Beth Moore so I compare everything to hers and thats not fair to all the other great bible teachers out there.

I did some crafty things finished over the weekend. I will load some photos this week. It is going to be a busy one. I am taking the Girl Scout troop to see Nim's Island tomorrow night. My local christian radio gave it a 4.5 out of 5 for family friendlyness. I know all the girls want to see it so that should be fun.

Have a great week!

TGIF

I'm so excited for the weekend. My little family will be out most of the weekend so that means, crafting, sewing, cleaning. I have lots of projects to finish and several to start on. I am going to try very hard not let this computer and the tv get me sidetracked. I made myself clean the kitchen before sitting down to blog. So that is a start. But I start reading blogs and the time just flies and it is midnight before I know it.

I have about 10 rubbermaid large tubs to go through and price for a garage sale at the end of April. Every year I wonder, why do I have all this stuff to sell. The kid clothes I understand but I don't shop so where does it come from. I will have to think about that. Better get started.

My First Post

Wow, I read all kinds of blogs and now that I have set mine up. I don't know what to say. I will start with I stayed home from work with a migraine today and then my hubby just called to tell me he was rear ended coming home from work. And imagine this- HE DOESN'T HAVE PROOF OF INSURANCE!!!! I am taking responsilbilty for that because I am not good about opening all or our mail. I know what bills I have and the rest gets thrown in a drawer. Time to change my habits. At least it isn't his fault and he says no one was hurt except he and his passenger really felt the jolt more than the damage to his truck. What a great day.... 2008 is not looking good for us. The child and myself have been sick alot since January, we went to do our taxes and found out the past 2 years were done incorrectly and we will owe about $1500 when we redo them. I work in the mortgage business and everyone knows that isn't the place to be right now. Whew, didn't mean for my first post to be so depressing, but that is our life now. Maybe later I will do one with lots of info about me. I wonder how I let people know about my blog???
