GARAGE SALE FINDS

I hit a great garage sale on Saturday. Look what I got!

Yes 3 COACH bags! For the low low price of $55.00 for all 3. They are all in perfect shape. I have wanted a coach for SOOOOOO long but to frugal to actually pay full price. I am using the blue one and they are all perfect for summer. I will have to trade out each week, huh!
We had a very busy Saturday that was full of baseball, garage sales and friends and family. Will tell you all about it later. Since I haven't had time to post I am going to try to take some time out to schedule posts for this week.
Beautiful weather all weekend and we are going to take advantage of it again today with some backyard work and a birthday party tonight.
I am linking up with Rhoda from Southern Hospitality . She has a link each week to show what great finds you have from yard sales, garage sales, etc. Go on over and see the goodies everyone got.

Wishing you beautiful weather and a glorious Sunday!!!!!
Blessings,
Pam

WEEKEND RECAP

Wow, the 3 day weekend is almost over! I have had a great time spending it with my sister. I missed Scott and Coco but it was fun to hang out with Tammy Lou.

These frames are from our crafting binge on Saturday night. I made the 2 on each side and she made the middle one. Aren't they cute. I still have to make a bow for the black / cream one. We ended up staying up until 1:30am doing crafts and having fun. We ended the evening watching Lockup San Quentin. Why I don't know, criminals fascinate us I guess!

I woke up at 10:15am on Sunday so church was out of the question. We felt like teenagers again. We got around and decided to drive up to Joplin, MO to shop. They have a Michaels and Joann's craft stores.

I found this monogram picture at Kirkland Home. Isn't it beautiful! Kirklands was next door to Michaels.

Here are some other finds from the day. Can you tell I love my "C"s! The bows with the P on them are for flip flops, Coco got some too. I think I will put the little C plate on my desk at work.
We hit TJ Maxx, found a really cute dress, chocolate brown Capri's, and a new apothecary jar that I am going to use in the bathroom and fill with cute soaps.

At Joann's we found some plastic totes half off. I am trying to organize the scrapbook room so that I can put the bed back in there for guests. The totes are going to work well to store different projects in. I found 3 different styles of fabric to make more pins like we made in the post below.
Tammy treated me to lunch at Red Lobster. I had shrimp scampi, crab legs, lobster tail, fried shrimp and their to die for mashed potatoes. I love love love crab legs! Scott won't eat them because of the time it takes to get to the meat. Not me I don't care about the work, they are so yummy! I sound like a little pig eating all that food, well I did PIG OUT! Thanks again Tammy Lou! You can save that other gift card and we can go again soon!! LOL
We finally pulled ourselves away from Joplin about 5:30pm and about the time we hit the Arkansas line the rain hit us. It rained so hard for awhile and some of you know how my eyesight is in the dark and the rain. Very poor eyesight! But we made it home safe and sound.
My family didn't make it home until almost 10pm. They were stinky, wet and exhausted. Coco got her feelings hurt by the other kids there and I was very upset by this! To give you some background, this is a family reunion for Scott's best friend Vance's family (Vance is the hubby to Beth with Cancer) anyhow, Scott is like a son to this family so they go up to Roaring River and rent a big site with kitchen house, bunk houses, rec hall etc. All the kids there are cousins or related somehow, except for Coco. Apparently the older kids (like 10-12 yrs old) had to pick on someone so it was my Coco. It was so bad that she asked her dad to bring her home late Saturday night but he told her it would be better on Sunday. I guess it was better on Sunday but it was because Coco decided she would ignore them and didn't want to play with them. It just hurt my heart to think that she was hurting and I wasn't there. It is one thing for kids to mistreat each other when they are siblings or relatives that are together all the time. Coco only sees these kids a few times a year. We try to instill compassion in Coco so that she is never mean to others on purpose. It was explained to Scott that this one certain girl is always mean to the younger ones and she was warned to not be mean to Beth's kids because of the situation with their mom. Which is understandable but why wasn't she warned not to be mean to all the other kids??? I won't tolerate Coco being mean to other kids and she knows it. I told she wasn't going back and she said she wanted to but we'll see about that! YOU JUST DON'T MESS WITH A MAMA'S BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I better get busy enjoying what is left of my last day off. I have to take my Brownie troop bowling tonight. I hope I don't miss The Bachelorette again!
Blessings,
Pam

BELATED BIRTHDAY AND A CRAFT

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT DONNA!

Yesterday I got to have lunch with (from L-R) Mom, Aunt Donna, Aunt Thelma and Cousin Brian. We all met at the Crumpet Tea Room for lunch. The chicken salad and orange roll were just as yummy as ever. Donna I hope you had a great birthday!

My hubby and daughter have went camping for the night and so did my sisters hubby and kids. Not together but anyways, Tammy Lou came up tonight to spend the night with me and do some crafting.

Can you guess what we are making??
No not pee pee teepee's but I guess these little cones could work for that!

Nope we made flower pins, thanks to SEW RITZY TITZY! She has a great step by step tutorial.

Aren't they sweet! Tammy Lou had cut the circles out awhile back and so we just used this fabric. But we will be getting some fabric tomorrow to make more. Heads up family this is what you will be getting in your birthday, Christmas, anytime gifts! This will also be great for secret sisters, ladies group, etc. I am making another purple one to give to Coco's teacher at her surprise party this week. More on that later.
UPDATE ON MISS BETH
She does have cancer in her liver and the lymph nodes behind her breast bone. She is feeling somewhat better. The morphine was making her sick and giving her the severe headaches. The MRI on her brain was clear, thankfully. They are trying to get her pain managed to the point where she could go home in a few days. I hope this works out for her and that she can get to her chemo appointments easily. I know her girls would love for her to be home. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
Blessings,
Pam

Prayer Please

A good friend of ours needs prayer right now. She found out on Wednesday that she has a recurrence of cancer. She has battled breast cancer for the past year. Double mastectomy, chemo, radiation you name it she has probably had it. Things were just getting back to normal for her when she went in last week for a scheduled pet scan. She has had this cough and congestion for a few weeks so she had diagnosed herself as having pneumonia. We all do it! Anyway the pet scan showed something that the doctor wanted to check out further. She was supposed to go see him on Monday. Well, Sunday evening she started getting a pain in her side which continued to get worse by the hour. She went to the ER at midnight Sunday. They did a biopsy of her liver on Tuesday. the cancer is back in her liver, possibly her lungs and lymph nodes. They were starting chemo today and another friend called us and she began having a severe headache after the chemo so they are going to do a MRI on her brain.

Her name is Beth and she is a wife, mother to 2 beautiful girls, daughter, sister, friend. She is in her early 30's. Please I ask you to pray for her and her family. This is going to be and is so hard for them. The not knowing is scary.

Scott and I have been talking about the why's and what if's all week. It is so easy for me to sit here and say Trust God, have faith but if I were in her shoes, what would I be feeling. What would my child say and think of God, if I were to die? So many questions will go unanswered because his ways are not our ways. I know he has a purpose, this illness has a purpose. What do you say to the spouse? The mother, father, sister? My prayer has been for peace! Of course I pray that he will perform a miracle and heal her. Wouldn't that be a awesome testimony to those that don't believe. I want him to be BIG and be shown as BIG in this situation, but I know this is his will that will be done so I pray for peace and acceptance. I pray that she has time to prepare things, if that is what she wants. I pray that she finds comfort in Jesus during this time, that the entire family does.

I am rambling. Again please pray for Beth and her family.
Thanks
Pam

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME

I SURVIVED THE CAMPOUT!

As a Girl Scout event we went to the Arkansas Naturals baseball game and then camped out on the outfield last night. The game was fun except for the watching out for foul balls. I don't know why but that terrified me! I guess because the only time I played baseball I got hit in the nose and I have never forgotten watching that ball come straight at my face. Don't ask me why I didn' t move, I just didn't!!!

Anyway the park was cool and they did a lot of fun things with the fans. This first photo is us down by the field for a spelling bee contest. They stopped me and asked if my family would do it but by the time we got down there the first family they asked had shown up. I guess we were a back up.

This is STRIKE! he is the coolest mascot ever. He was great with the kids. Coco and Courtney with him. And the dreaded foam finger she talked me into buying. I spent the rest of the night dealing with the STUPID thing! I told her I was going to give it away if she asked me to pull her finger one more time, then a kid behind me started swinging his over my head and over my shoulder!

Here is our tent. My thought when I bought the 5ft x 6ft tent, was that it would be just big enough for Coco and I, small enough to carry from the parking lot to the field, small enough to put up easily. Well 5x6 is when it is laid out on the ground without the poles! Oh my Coco's play tent is bigger than this thing! This is a couple of the mom's checking out our digs! It was the most horrible night I have ever had trying to sleep.

To begin with the game didn't end until 10:30pm and so by the time we all got set up and watching the movie it was 12am! I had to sleep from corner to corner and still couldn't stretch out. The inside walls were wet this morning so we were freezing and my whole body was aching from the hard ground. I was up at 5:30am and by 6:15 we were leaving. Some of the others weren't even out of their tents so I hope no one is mad at me but I was so ready to get out of there.

Here is a photo of the field with all the tents. Looks like a tent city in California. Thank you Lord for my home and my king size bed with 500 count sheets. I have never been more excited to come home before!!!!

Here is what the girls were doing at midnight! Running , rolling, jumping, flipping around on the field! I think they all slept hard even though they were freezing! This is Coco standing on her head!

Since we were in Springdale I had told mom that we might come by for breakfast after we left the park. We called her at 6:30 to tell her we were on our way. She made us biscuits and gravy, eggs, hashbrowns and bacon! MY MOM ROCKS!!!!!

Coco ended up falling asleep there while Mom and I visited so I had to wake her up to come home. We got to our house about 9:30 and I went straight to bed and slept til 12:30 when Scott came home from church with lunch ! Coco and I slept again after lunch until about 4. I probably will be up all night now! Scott and I worked on the yard and weeded my squash garden this evening and now my yard looks all green and clean! It is supposed to be nice weather all week so I hope to get some powerwashing done!

Blessings,

Pam

I NEED A WIFE OR A NANNY

I have been such a slacker on blogging. Sorry to my faithful readers! I am surfing your blogs and I apologize for not commenting. I have been working til after 6pm most nights and then of course my fam needs clean clothes and dishes so that comes first! You will notice I didn't say food, Thank goodness for neighbors and fast food! We have eaten with our neighbors 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I need to cook for them, soon!

Today is jam packed with stuff! Thankfully some of it is cancelled!

Coco was supposed to play in a softball tournament today from 9:30 to ???! All parks are closed due to weather, but the commissioner is out on the fields making a decision as to if we might play later today. Please let them say no! I want to stay home this morning and blog with a little cleaning thrown in here and there. Don't you love that photo, I found it on Flickr. Thanks firefighter man with a camera!
We have fittings for Cheer this afternoon. How do parents with more than 1 child fit all this stuff in??? God knew what he was doing when he gave me only 1, I couldn't handle more!

This evening our Girl Scout troop is camping with the Naturals minor league baseball team. Well, I don't think the team is camping but we will set our tents up on the outfield of the ballpark. It is supposed to be a low of 42 degrees in the morning. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!! This gets me out of a real campout with making fires and woodland creatures so I can tough it out for one night. I might be sleeping most of the day Sunday if I can get up. I am worried about how sleeping on the hard ground is going to affect me. I know WIMPY WIMPY WIMPY!
I am off to call the scouts to set up meeting time, I know the other mothers are just as excited as I am.
Happy camping to all of you today! Stay dry!
Blessings,
Pam

THIS AND THAT

I wanted to show you some of the "C"s I have made for Coco's room. This first one is my favorite and the first one I did for her. This was just a wooden C I bought at Hobby Lobby and decorated it up.

This one I painted to match her zebra theme. Super easy to do.

I ordered this print from ebay for Coco's room and just got it hung up tonight. I love these photo's of Audrey Hepburn!

Sunday was a great day. We all met up at Mom's and went to church together. We went to the little church that I went to as a child. We even saw some people from our childhood. That was so cool. It was great to spend the day together. I am very thankful to have my Mom and sister. I wish we all lived close so that we could go to church together every Sunday.
We should have turned so that we all weren't squinting!
I am off to flip channels between Dancing and Biggest Loser! Have a great night!
Blessings,
Pam

GOING BACK IN TIME

Guess what I have been making???

Hello Laura Ingalls!

Coco is taking a field trip tomorrow to a one room school house. They encouraged the children to dress in period clothing and bring their lunches like a child would have back at that time. I made her the pillowcase dress, we had the cape and we borrowed the bonnet and the lunch pail. Doesn't she look adorable. Minus the razorback on her cheek. That came off in the shower tonight. She is going to have to wear some of my long socks and her tennis shoes but at least they are brown with a little pink. As for food that is a tough one with her recent braces. I got some popcorn chicken and potato wedges at the store tonight and we'll figure something out in the morning. I wish we would have done things like this when I was a kid. Oh maybe we did and I just don't remember it.
Scott just told me to make me a dress like that and he would be the Indian that finds the lost little wagon train girl!!!!!!!!!!! He's a goofball.
Blessings,
Pam

Garage Sales

I was so looking forward to the weekend because their were to be tons of garage sales in our area. Lots and lots of neighborhood sales.

It was not meant to be! IT RAINED AND RAINED AND IS STILL RAINING! On Saturday Scott and I both got up early with plans to hit the road. It was thundering and raining so we were slow getting around and trying to decide if it was worth it. I had to go to Fayetteville to the Girl Scout office anyway so he went to get Coco from a friends house, went to the tire shop to get 4 new tires while I went to the bank and McD's for a Drpepper!

We left for the first series of sales about 9am and most were closed up but we hit about 8 in 2 neighborhoods. I didn't take photos but here is a list of what we found.
Cute crocs for my niece
Sizix diecut machine for $5.00 whoopey!
2 pairs of slacks for Scott with the tags still on for $1.00 each
2 books on tape for $.75 each these are for Mamie since she can't see well anymore.
Steal of the day a Honda powerwasher used twice for $75.00 (Scott looked it up new and it cost $400)
Cook once eat for a week cookbook for $.75, I have always wanted to do this. I think that is all we got at the sales.

Coco and I went on to Fayetteville and met up with my sister and went to the Craft Fair in Springdale and the warehouse sale that Signed Sealed and Delivered was having in Tontitown. For you locals SSD has new owners and will have some good changes.

Today has been dreadful. The weather is still nasty and I have fought a migraine all day. I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon and feel better but still dragging. I NEED SOME SUNSHINE!
I think they are calling for rain on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I need to check the calendar we will probably be making up ballgames in December! Just kidding

Here's hoping we have a good week! I know that I will be at the office late everyday, my workload is growing each day. Thank goodness! EVERYONE GO OUT AND BUY A HOUSE OR REFINANCE THE ONE YOU HAVE!!!

Blessings,
Pam
