I LOVE TO TRAVEL

I went to Oklahoma City this week .
With these 2! My sister and mother. Tammy Lou had to go over for a meeting with the lottery board so mom and I tagged along. While she was in her meeting we hung out at the Penn Street Mall. Lots of walking and looking. I did get Coco some new coats for next year. The past 2 years I have bought her coats at Dillards for nearly nothing. Last year I got 5 coats for $59, this year it was 2 for $21. Can't beat that. I also got her some cute rain boots for $7 at Dillards.

This sign was out front of Wilson's BBQ. I had to get a photo of that! One sign I have never seen.

We also ate at here. Good food but it was very dark in the restaurant so it was hard to see what you were eating. Not a place I will be dying to go back to!

We made time to go to the National Monument where the Federal Building was bombed. They have built a beautiful monument in remembrance of the 168 that lost their lives. You can see in the blurry photo below the smaller chair represents a child that was in the building that day!

Driving down the interstate this truck comes along side us and I had to take a photo because of the color, we are using these colors in the reception I am doing for my Nephew. I wish I could find the guy and borrow it for the reception. JK but it would be a hoot!!!!
It has been snowing all day here. Crazy Arkansas weather, I was wearing flip flops on Thursday!
Gotta get to bed. I have to be at work at 6am in the morning. Coco says it is torture for her since she won't see me all day! Lets see what she says in about 8 years, she will hope I go to work all day!
Blessings to all and stay warm!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

My nephew eloped on January 30, 2009. Little stinker! In honor of their marriage I am hosting a reception for them at the end of March. The bride picked black/lime green for her colors. Today Coco and I went to Hobby Lob and these are some of things we picked up.

I am also doing the invitations and found that cute paper on the left. I love the apples in the vase and the daisy's and feathers will be used in vases for the tables. I am having a ball doing this for them. I am going to make some large squares out of the black/white fabric and lime tulle for the tables too. I need to get some canvas to make some monograms for the decor.
I hope she will love it. I have some other ideas up my sleeve so I will show those later.
Blessings,
Pam

TUESDAY TIP

What do you do with the cord when you vacuum? I am usually throwing it over my shoulder or rolling it up so that I don't run over it.

After over 20 years of using a vacuum I have found the niftest little clip on my vacuum. I can't lie I didn't find it really. I was using the vacuum at the store that I work in and someone had attached the cord up near the handle. I looked it over because the cord wasn't all floppy like usual. So I came home to check mine out and sure enough it had this little clip. Here I will show you.
See how well it holds up the cord? I was just so excited I had to share it with you. You all have probably known about this little clip forever but I didn't!
The cord is not dirty it is gray so it looks really dusty in this photo.

One more tip that I found on a blog and can't remember who to give credit to. When you bring home your bananas go ahead and separate each one from the stem. They don't turn brown near as fast this way. I tried it and it does work!

I will probably be away for a few days delivery Girl Scout cookies. We picked up over 1000 boxes for our troop today and now it is time to deliver and collect! I love it that we can only get them once per year. They just taste better when you only get them once a year. I hope you all ordered some too!

Blessings,
Pam

UPDATE TO THE FRIEND MAKIN MONDAY

I fell in love today!

With this little guy! I know what I said in my friendmakin list but God other things up his sleeve today.
Scott came home from taking Coco to school and when he walked in he asked me if I wanted a little dog? UH NO! Then he showed me this little puppy that was out in the yard with no collar. We could tell he was a inside dog because he was so little and pretty clean. Scott went to get him and brought him in. I called the local Vet to list a found dog post, no one had reported him missing so we thought we would just let him hang out until we heard from someone or just maybe we could keep him. He smelled like a dog so I gave him a bath (yes I gave him a bath). He was so funny running all around the house and following me everywhere. He got one of Coco's toys so I took it away and gave him a old stuffed dog and he would chew it and shake his little head all around. By 3pm his real Daddy called looking for him so he had to go home. We wanted him to go before Coco got home because she would be heartbroken to have to see him go. Coco really wants a dog for the house (she had a cat that peed on everything so I made it go outside) anyway when we told her about this little dog and me spending the day with him, she was on me like crazy to get her a dog. She also knew who's dog it was because she had petted it when its owner was walking the dog down our street. So I guess we will be looking for new family member soon. Please give me ideas on a good small house dog!

Here is another photo of him chewing on a ball that he found somewhere! I called him prince all day but his real name is Bailey and he lives just a street over so maybe he can come visit!

i had a comment about me choosing Jacob over Edward. I have to explain. While reading the books I was torn between the 2. In my mind I conjured up the pictures of Edward and Jacob, I was totally a Edward girl! Then I watched the movie. Girls, I like my man with some meat on his bones. My hubby is 6'4" and when I hug him I know that I will not break him! Edward in the movie was just too skinny and a little to weird looking for me! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

I want to give a big Praise the LORD for bringing little Brayden home! Thank you Jesus!

Please come back tomorrow for a fabulous tip on your vacuum cleaner!

Blessings,

Pam

Valentine Fun

At the end of January I signed up with Country Pleasures for a Valentine card swap. It was so much fun making cards for these sweet bloggers! I got so much pleasure from running to the mailbox to see my beautiful cards. I hope all the others did too! Thank you all who participated and big thanks to Sue at Country Pleasures for hosting.

These are all the cards I received. The heart laying down in this first photo is a heart made from a quilt and it is a needle holder. So awesome!
There are some talented women out in blogland.
I also want to thank Sue for the valentine clipboard that I won on her blog. I believe a little 8 year old angel has taken possession of it and I couldn't find it to take a picture. She is probably hiding it so she can keep it for herself.
Thanks again Sue for all the joy you brought to us this February!
Blessings,
Pam

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

These were delivered to me yesterday, from my loving husband. I don't say it enough but he is the most loving, respectable, giving man I know.
He also sent Coco a balloon and candy to school. He has gotten her something every year in hopes that she will know what a man is supposed to do and not settle for anything else from her future husband.
I wish each of you a lots of love, hugs and kisses today

THRIFTY THURSDAY ON FRIDAY

Thursday I took a break from this
I should be ashamed to show this room! This is the current state of my scrapbook room, catch all, etc. Any hoo, I took a break from cleaning and organizing it to meet my sister to go to flea markets. We ended our morning here for lunch

If you are from NWA you probably recognize these steps.
They lead to this. The Tea Room (previously known as The Crumpet Tea Room). It still has most of the same features. They have remodeled some of the rooms and they are gorgeous!

We were seated in this Blue room. Just precious.

The famous Chicken Salad, Fruit Plate with Poppyseed dressing and orange roll! I want more now! It is so yummy. I could drink that dressing. JK but it is that good! I almost called our mother just to gloat about what we were eating! That would have been mean so I waited a few hours to call and gloat! Is gloat a word?? Well it is here in Arkansas, it means to boast and God help me but I was being boastful about this treat!

These are my finds from the flea markets. Federal snack plates and cups. I bought 8 sets for less than $20. My frugal thought is if I use these instead of paying $4-5 dollars for plates and cups at each event I will save lots of dollars!
I found out about these from Shannon at Bless our nest. She collects these to use for showers and parties. So when I kept seeing them yesterday I decided I needed some too. Now I will have to get my hospitality on and have some girls over to use them. As many of you know Hospitality is not my gift but I would really like it to be!
I think we are going to make this thrifting a regular thing unless I happen to find a job to support my thrifting habit. Things on the job front are not coming as easily as I had hoped.
Blessings and love
Pam

VALENTINE FUN

Tonight we celebrated cookie sales at our Girl Scout meeting. The cookie mom planned lots of fun for us. We did a blind taste test, decorated cookies and played pin the chocolate chip on the cookie. The girls had a great time and were very deserving after some serious cookie sales.
This is Coco and Maggie doing the blind taste test.
Madison trying to pin her chip on the cookie. If you click on this photo you can read the poster in the back ground. It is a good one from our youth room at church.
Sweet Kimberly took her time tasting each cookie.

This is a gift to me from Coco for Valentines day. She and Nana took a walk along the creek on Sunday and found this gem for me. This is the 2nd rock she has given me with a heart shape in it. When she was just a toddler I got lots of rocks and some she even drew pictures on for me. SHE IS MY ROCK!!! Love her to pieces!
Lots of love happening at our house this week!
Blessings,
Pam

FIREPROOF

I rented this movie last night. It was awesome. The acting skills were a little rusty but the teachable moments were many.

I want to get the Lovedare book. What a blessing it could be to a marriage. I won't ruin it for all of you that haven't seen it. I do encourage all of you to rent it. I know alot of churches are having movie nights too.

Our DVD player in the living room wouldn't work so we had to watch it on Coco's little 14inch TV while all 3 of us were in her bed. Both of them ended up falling asleep in the middle of it. It was a great time to all be cuddled together.

Have a great Saturday and do something unexpected for your spouse today!

Thursday, February 5, 2009

I'm still here! I can't believe it is already Thursday, this week has flown by for me. Coco woke me up on Monday morning at 4:30am with what she thought was heartburn. At 5:30 I woke up to her losing her supper in my bed! This went on until 9pm Monday night. I don't remember her being this sick since she had roto virus when she was 9 months old. It was easier with a 9 month old!

I did 8 loads of laundry that day and cleaned alot of carpet! I definetly earned my Mama pay for the day. Tuesday we woke up to a much better day, I kept her home so that I could control her intake and make sure she didn't get sick again. It must have been a 24 hour bug, thank the Lord. I don't know how you would handle it with 2 or 3 children. I just pray that Scott doesn't get it. He would be worse than 2-3 kids! Know what I mean. Men are just wimpy when they get sick.

Wednesday I got started organizing and cleaning out some spaces. Did anyone see the show on TLC about hoaders? The just of the show was these people have been diagnosed with hoarding disease. Can you believe that? What is the world coming to!

Anyhoo, I have had these sheers and new rods for our bedroom for months and couldn't get Scott to hang them for me. Well yesterday I nagged until he helped me put them up. This is the side window. They really look great in there and now it looks finished!
After Coco saw mine, she wanted some for her room. I went in to Fred's pharmacy here in town and I found these zebra sheers that are perfect for her room. Aren't they darling!!! She thought so !
I am almost finished with the little bathroom and I hope to have photos of that adventure soon!

I have to run and take Coco's friend home! Happy Friday to everyone!
