SHADOWBOX FRAME

I have had this shadowbox frame for a few months just waiting for me to put Coco's Softball or Cheer stuff in it for safekeeping. I chose the Softball because she is still playing ball but Cheer only lasted a couple of years.
I took the photos with my phone so it is kinda blurry!

A closer look

PHONE PHOTO DUMP OF THE WEEK

Coco and I found this on a shopping trip this week. So funny and it didn't take long before i had to get into it. My boss bought La Huerto for lunch on Friday and we were all craving chocolate afterwards. We passed this around the office and I still have half a bar left.

The tree in front of our office is so pretty

It rained here literally all 5 days this week. One night coming back from the UPS box I noticed a beautiful rainbow in the sky. I got so excited I texted it to everyone I know. ha

Here is the other side ! So cool

Later that same night driving home at 8pm the sky was very strange and scary looking. It seemed like a huge black cloud was hanging over our town.

I am so happy to be feeling well. I spent today cleaning, dusting, purging and organizing.
Love to have a clean house. Now I need to get our bed made with all new clean bedding.
One of my favorite things is fresh clean bedding!!
Makes me very happy!!

WAITING

We are expecting tornado type weather tonight. Actually we just came in from the cellar because our storm sirens went off about 9:30pm. Thankfully it has went around us but more is moving in from Oklahoma. I might be another long night.

Thankful that we do have one of these.

I wish it had these.

After seeing what happened in Joplin which is just a hour or so away from us. I am being very cautious. I came home and packed up a couple of tubs with food, medicines, toiletries and put them down in the cellar. I also packed a bag with a extra set of clothes for each of us. I even put a paint bucket with a lid just in case we needed to go potty. We would have to go really bad but I would rather be safe than sorry.

I am going to try to get some sleep.
Stay safe my friends.

IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

I have no words for the devastation across teh south.

All those people have been heavy on my heart today.

The pictures and stories so shocking.

Please keep all those that have been in this stormy path in your prayers.

STORMY WEATHER

I told you in last post I was tired of the rain. I am REALLY tired of the rain now. Yesterday we had serious flooding issues in Arkansas. I didn't have my camera yesterday so this morning I grabbed it to make sure I could take some photos of the flooding. All the water had receded by this morning and we had a pretty day until about 5pm. It started clouding up and sprinkling on my way home.
I took these photos of the sky on the drive home. We are under severe t-storm warnings and some areas have tornado warnings.

Scary looking huh?

Pray for our state tonight. There were several deaths last night from tornados in central Arkansas.

BLIZZARD OF 2011

Last night when I went to bed the weather man expected 2-4 inches of snow for our area.

The latest forecast today

We probably have 15 inches at our house. Everything is closed  and hopefully no one is out on the roads.
Feels like I went to sleep in Arkansas and woke up in Chicago!

THOUGHTS

You would never guess where I am!

Give up?

On my front patio blogging!

This so cool, the weather is perfect the sun is going down.

I see the shadows of the trees on the house across the street.

The birds are singing to beat the band. Every now and then I hear a weird one.

My neighbors wife is ready to go in but he is keeping her working. Oh he just started the tiller and messed up my bird singing. Now I can't hear what they are saying. Darn

I am just a tad nosey! Not that I would ever admit it to anyone else.

I am smelling dirt or maybe it is dust. A trace of a grill somewhere in the neighborhood. Wonder what they are cooking?

I have had a great day. Most of it was spent at the unemployment office. You know they could save by hiring more help. It is like the DMV slower than an old man on a tractor! There were 2 guys at the front desk and 1 of them was just sitting there with his arm on the desk holding up his head. I really wanted to tell them that I could at least look busy, so they should hire me. But I didn't, I just sat there and waited and waited and waited. Listening to other peoples conversations, pretending to read my book. To many people with sneezes and coughs too. I joked with the lady next to me that I need to remember to bring a mask with me next time. After all that waiting I come to find out that I won't get any money for another week or so due to the fact that I received a severance payout last week. Thank you very much, I can surely go 3- 4 weeks without any income. No problem, now I need to find the numbers to all my creditors to see if it is ok that my payments will be 3-4 weeks late. You can bet that won't fly. Like my honey says, it will work out we'll make it. This is coming from the same man that doesn't want to know what we owe on that credit card cause it might cause him to have a coronary!

Back to my bird listening.

Wow we have a lot of traffic on our little street. We need one of those signs that say SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY. When you see that sign, do you think SLOW DOWN or they have slow children??
Scott always says something goofy about having slow children. Isn't that mean? Bless his heart he doesn't mean any harm.

Someone is doing laundry, I smell their bounce sheets.

Oh gotta go, someone is stopping to see us.

Catcha later.

NW ARKANSAS WEATHER

We have had more snow this year than I ever remember before.

Snow on our patio table. I think we ended up with 8 inches last weekend.

This is on my way to work one morning this past week. I was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes due to the fog. While I waited I took some pictures. I love the fog in the distance.
See the fog in the woods. So cool. I didn't know if it would show up in the photos, glad it did.

Friday we had more snow. It didn't end up with any accumulation, the flakes were huge.
I think we are expecting more snow and winter weather tonight and tomorrow.
I am ready for spring. I have had enough

BEFORE THE STORM

If you live in Oklahoma or Northwest Arkansas you to have probably been preparing for the ice/snow storm that is supposed to hit tomorrow. I am all for a snow day but ice I do not want.

We have prepared for the worst! At least I think we have.

We have our kerosene lamp and candles ready!
Lots of batteries.
Plenty of easy to prepare food.
Cell phones charging
Camera battery charging
Gift for Coco in case the power does go out, she will have something new to play with.
Soap making supplies if we get to stay home.
Ink so I can print photos at home and scrapbook.
Cute little houndstooth rain boots. (just for me)
Gas in the car and truck.
Gas heater (installed after last years ice storm)

I think we are as ready as can be. Our weather men are predicting 3/4 inch of ice and up to 10 inches of snow for us. You know they are wrong so often but I am afraid this time they may be right. I will enjoy the time with family and if we lose power for days on end we'll pretend we are Pa, Ma and Laura Ingalls, without the cows to milk and Nellie Olsen to harrass us and with cute houndstooth rain boots.
Hope you all stay warm and safe throughout this storm.
Blessings,
Pam

Garage Sales

I was so looking forward to the weekend because their were to be tons of garage sales in our area. Lots and lots of neighborhood sales.

It was not meant to be! IT RAINED AND RAINED AND IS STILL RAINING! On Saturday Scott and I both got up early with plans to hit the road. It was thundering and raining so we were slow getting around and trying to decide if it was worth it. I had to go to Fayetteville to the Girl Scout office anyway so he went to get Coco from a friends house, went to the tire shop to get 4 new tires while I went to the bank and McD's for a Drpepper!

We left for the first series of sales about 9am and most were closed up but we hit about 8 in 2 neighborhoods. I didn't take photos but here is a list of what we found.
Cute crocs for my niece
Sizix diecut machine for $5.00 whoopey!
2 pairs of slacks for Scott with the tags still on for $1.00 each
2 books on tape for $.75 each these are for Mamie since she can't see well anymore.
Steal of the day a Honda powerwasher used twice for $75.00 (Scott looked it up new and it cost $400)
Cook once eat for a week cookbook for $.75, I have always wanted to do this. I think that is all we got at the sales.

Coco and I went on to Fayetteville and met up with my sister and went to the Craft Fair in Springdale and the warehouse sale that Signed Sealed and Delivered was having in Tontitown. For you locals SSD has new owners and will have some good changes.

Today has been dreadful. The weather is still nasty and I have fought a migraine all day. I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon and feel better but still dragging. I NEED SOME SUNSHINE!
I think they are calling for rain on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I need to check the calendar we will probably be making up ballgames in December! Just kidding

Here's hoping we have a good week! I know that I will be at the office late everyday, my workload is growing each day. Thank goodness! EVERYONE GO OUT AND BUY A HOUSE OR REFINANCE THE ONE YOU HAVE!!!

Blessings,
Pam

SLIPPERY

This is what we have to look forward to on Monday. A significant ice storm is headed our way. They are expecting up to 1 inch of ice. Which means a threat of power outages.
Scott is already telling me we need to go to his parents before it hits tomorrow. Their power always goes out but they do have wood heat as a back up. I am being fickle about it. I don't want to go over there. We have our gas kitchen stove and still have the little gas wall heater in the bathroom, we could use if need be. I just like to be home with my stuff, where if I get the urge to do something I can go do it. So I am hoping that the power stays on and we get to stay home.

Hoping you are all snuggly and warm on this winters night!

Blessings
